Day Five; The Roc, Prayer Walking and Back Yard Bible School Sports Camp

We have worked all week with Mike Wallace pictured above with Gail, the missions coordinator for the York Baptist Association.
The Roc, Renew Our Community, is a place where people in need, crisis, or social emergency can find direction and are treated with dignity and respect. The Roc offers drug and alcohol recovery assistance, helping clients make plans to find peace, self-sufficiency, and hope through one on one life coaching, provide phone, internet, space to work, restrooms, and a break from weather, temporary mail service, connect clients with government services, help filling out applications, resumes, and temporary jobs and a bike shop to fix old bikes to loan and sell as well as train people to work on bikes.
You can find out more about The Roc at the following web site. We encouage you to pray for the people at The Roc as well as their staff.

This was our last night with the children we have been working with from the apartment complex. These families have been "adopted" by Glen Rock Baptist Church. The kids grew more comfortable with us as the week went on. We will miss them as well as the wonderful members from the church. Thank you Pastor Gene and your dedicated members for all you do for your community and the world. May God bless you as you journey to New York tomorrow. on yet another mission trip. Glen Rock Baptist has been to Turkey several times, Romania, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Peru, Egypt and Massachusetts. A small church with big hearts and a love of the Lord and spreading the Gospel.
We ask that you pray for our safe trip back to Lebanon tomorrow.

Day Four; Park Avenue Adult Day Care and Backyard Bible School

At the Day Care facility we cleaned the porch and furniture. Justin and Greg cleaned the gutters and the loading dock area. Josh and Jesse played music and sang songs which the residences loved. Thomas shared the Gospel and gave a very powerful message which we all enjoyed.

At Backyard Bible School the kids seemed to warm up to us more today. The older boys listened intently to Greg's bible lesson. Pray for these children and their families to come to know the Lord.

Third Day; Catawba Indian Reservation and some down time.

Today was another productive day at the Catawba Indian Reservation. We finished the clean up of The Culture Center Trail which educates hikers by bringing the local history alive. The men moved logs for the Palisade. This will be a living cultural setting where ceremonies and educational tours will take place . We have worked with three individuals on the reservation. Two of those were members of the tribe and the men sheared the gospel with them.. The Catawba are mostly Mormon so keep them in your prayers.

Due to a storm, our backyard bible school was postponed. The ladies of Glenrock Baptist cooked our supper tonight. Thank you ladies for the spaghetti, salad, bread, brownie and ice cream. We had wonderful fellowship with the members of the church and each other.

Second Day Catawba Indian Reservation and Backyard Bible School

Today the team got an early start at the Catawba Indian Reservation. We divided into 2 groups to clear trails and work in parking areas. The Catawba are the only Indian Nation recognized in the state of South Carolina.
At Backyard Bible School we divided up into 5 stations. We had a Bible lesson, snacks, music, crafts, and games. We had about 40 kids in attendance and about 60 at registration last night. Remember, attendance goes up and down, but registration always goes up. Everyone had a wonderful fellowship.
